Campana, 1967

Marcela Cernadas (Campana, Argentina, 1967) currently lives and works between Spain and Italy. Her work, which encompasses various media such as photography, video, painting, poetry, sculpture, installation and performance, involves the possibility of confronting the ineffable on every occasion and presents art and life as an indivisible existence in constant motion. Her works are the result of careful and patient work, where slow and measured gestures become artistic practice, where time is diluted through a metaphysical meaning. She received the Video Art Award at the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Benevento and the Glass in Venice Award from the Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts. She has exhibited in international museums and foundations such as the Centre Pompidou, the Reina Sofía Museum, Matadero, the Joan Miró Foundation, the Frauenmuseum, the Galata Museo del Mare, MACRO in Rome, the Cini Foundation and La Biennale di Venezia.
